How your blackout blind attaches to your window will depend on which blind you're using.
Portable blackout blind with suction cups
These temporary blackout blinds come with suction cups that attach the blind directly to the window glass. The suction cups create a strong hold that keeps the blind in place, while also being easy to remove without leaving any residue.
Our blinds come with hook and loop fasteners (aka "Velcro")that can be adjusted to fit any window size, ensuring a snug and secure fit.
We've also included additional hook and loop fasteners that can be attached to the window for extra support if needed.

How do I install the Cut-to-Size Blackout Blind?
Choose whether to install your blind on the window frame or wall. This gives the best coverage and avoids light leaks. Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free of dust or grease before you begin. Do not attach the fasteners to the glass as the heat may melt the adhesive and they blind won't stick properly.
Measure the area you want to cover and add a couple of centimetres for full blackout (you can trim it down later). Cut your blind to size.
Press the fasteners together so they pair correctly, then peel the backing off the hard side and stick these evenly around your frame or wall. Let them set for a couple of hours.
Starting in one corner, peel the backing off the soft side and press the blind firmly into place for about 10 seconds, working your way around and keeping the fabric stretched as you go. Leave the blind up for at least six hours before taking it down to ensure a strong hold.
Our new-style fasteners are designed to be removed similarly to Command™ strips.
They include arrows - when it’s time to remove them:
Remember to follow the instructions carefully when installing, the Loop side of the fastener (soft side) should be on the blind, and the Hook (rough side) is designed for the wall or frames.
The blind itself is reusable, but the adhesive strength of the fasteners may reduce once removed.
You can purchase a Hook & Loop roll if you need more adhesive.

Our portable blackout blinds with suction cups are available in one standard size, which measures 200cm x 130cm. However, we understand that not all windows are the same size, which is why we've designed our blinds with hook and loop fasteners that can be adjusted to fit any window size. The blinds are resizable to a minimum of 200cm x 40cm or 75cm x 130cm.
Our cut-to-size blackout blinds are 300cm x 145cm. They come with a tape measure so that you can measure your window and cut the blind to fit your window perfectly. When cutting your blind, we recommend adding an extra couple of centimetres either side of the window, as this make the blind sit flush on the frame and reduce any gaps.
Our portable blackout blinds can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. For tougher stains, we recommend using a mild detergent and warm water.
Yes, our portable blackout blinds are a versatile option that can be used in any room where you want to block out light.
If it's been on for a while and hasn't come away using warm soapy water then the best way to remove any remaining residue from the adhesive is to use rubbing alcohol (you can also try nail polish remover or specialist products like De Solv It from Coles or Bunnings).
