Using your blackout blind
Using your blackout blind
Follow these steps to get the most out of Porta Fox blackout blind.
Suction cups and glass can be a bit of a tricky duo! Moisture and dust are their sworn enemies and can make them lose their stickiness mojo. Don't you worry, we've got your back! Just follow the step-by-step instructions below to make sure you get maximum stickiness.
Some useful tips...
1. Get out your measuring tape and measure the width of your window.
2. Lay your blind out on a flat surface and pat it down to flatten it out.
3. Fold it back on itself in sections, making sure to align the Velcro to secure it in place. Do as many folds as you need to adjust to the right size (see images).
4. Almost there! Use the additional Velcro we've supplied to secure the material along the length of the blind. This will ensure it stays put and blocks out all that pesky light.
Let's get started...
1. Wipe each suction cup with a wet cloth then dry thoroughly.
2. Use a cleaning agent to ensure the glass is free from dust particles and grease. The window should be fully dry before proceeding with attaching the blind.
3. Gently press a corner suction cup on to window and hold for seconds. Work across the window repeating this action with suction cups.
4. Adjust the blind along the way to the required size by using the hook-and-loop fasteners.
5. Continue down both sides and finally along the bottom. If a sucker will not attach moisten it slightly.
Packing down...
Remove each suction cup one at a time. Use the small tab or fingernail to release suction before pulling from the window.
Do not pull the blind down at once using the fabric. This risks damaging the blind and glass.
