I recently tried the Porta Fox Blackout Blinds and I’m genuinely impressed. As someone who works with a lot of home-and-lifestyle products, I’ve seen my fair share of “blackout” options but these actually deliver!!
The first thing I noticed was how quick the setup was. The blinds are lightweight yet feel really well-made and within minutes my toddlers room went from bright daylight to movie-theatre dark! Honestly these blinds are perfect little ones needing extra support to stay asleep!
I am extremely disappointed. The pattern is beautiful but after the first day of use, the Velcro tabs are already coming off and there is still a significant amount of light coming into the room through the edges despite it being over the window entirely. The fabric has also already started to fray. For the price of the product, it really isn’t worth it.

Thanks so much for your review and for sharing the photo. We’re really sorry to hear you’ve been disappointed. We never want our blinds to cause frustration, and we’d love to help get this sorted for you.
From the picture, it looks like there’s still a small gap between the blind and the frame, which is likely where the light is sneaking in. The fabric itself is 100% blackout, but the fit does come down to how it’s cut and installed. We recommend leaving a few extra centimetres around the edges so the blind overlaps the frame and blocks out those little gaps.
That said, you mentioned the Velcro hasn’t been sticking well. As a goodwill gesture, we’d be really happy to send you a full roll of Velcro tape. You can run this all the way around the edge of the blind so it seals securely against the frame and stops any light coming through.

The blackout blinds have the most cutest designs, that not only blacked out my bubs room but looked stylish at the same time. It was so simple to measure and put up the blinds, and I was able to chuck the curtains out straight away.

Exactly as advertised! The material can be cut to size which was very useful for our windows, we used it on 3 windows (all reasonably small) with a bunch of material to spare. Completely blacks out the light and is so much better for getting our daughter to sleep!

I was extremely pleased with my entire experience from start to finish. Lovely Annette gave me recommendations on what would work best for my situation. The order arrived super quick. The quality is high and lovely colour.
And most importantly my baby is sleeping better than before.
These are perfect under our plantation shutters to make the room extra dark for our toddler. Super easy to cut to size, easy to install and remove with velcro. I want to put them on all our windows under our shutters!

Both blinds are really high quality and look perfect in our children’s bedroom. The original description was really accurate and was an easy purchasing experience. The designs are also really beautiful.
This has made a big difference in being able to move our 14 month old into her own room. It wasn’t dark enough and not only have these helped darken it - they’ve made a huge difference in reducing the heat in there. We’ve put what we had leftover on another window to help reduce that heat too on really hot days. Much more cost effective than blackout blinds!

So glad this brand & product popped up as soon as I went into Google search to block out my son’s nursery window. Great quality - thick material that severely helps reducing the heat coming into room from sun set. But it’s the lil things that impressed us, apart from clear instruction (which was so easy), the measuring tape & pen included was a nice convenient touch. Fair purchase price for quality

I have tried multiple block out blinds for my baby’s room and this is hands down the best. Reflects the light and keeps the room cool, cute design and makes the room extremely dark. Love the portable nature of the suction cups the carry bag is a bonus!
This is my third and once again a great effective block out for our rooms
Quality product with plenty of valcro and suction cups, very big so we have had to utilise the Velcro size adjustment, but it works well. Cute pattern, doesn't feel cheap. Blocks most the sunlight from coming into room.
After using static block out sheets for a couple years, we switched to Porta Fox block outs and I wish we’d done it sooner! Quick and easy set up, 100% blockout, cute design and easy to peel back to open the window. Have already recommended these to friends. Thank you for a great product!
