Using your cut-to-size blackout blind
Using your cut-to-size blackout blind
Customise to fit window and install with ease.
Our cut-to-size blinds are ideal if you are searching for a block out solution to be used in a nursery or child's room without the need to take it out of home. BUT, to get that perfect fit you should follow our easy to install step-by-step guide.
Let's get started...
1. Decide where to install your blind - either on the window frame or wall for maximum coverage and no light leaks. Avoid attaching it directly to the glass, as the adhesive may not hold in direct sunlight.
2. Use a cleaning agent to ensure the surface is free from dust particles and grease. The surface should be fully dry before proceeding with installation.
3. Use the provided tape measure to measure the area you want to cover. Add a minimum of 2cm extra for full coverage (you can trim later if needed). Mark and cut your blind to size.
4. Press the fasteners together - one hard with one soft, then peel the backing off the hard side and attach evenly to your surface (about 30cm apart). Note: The adhesive is single-use, so place carefully.
5. Let the fasteners set for at least 2 hours before attaching the blind.
6. Starting in one corner, peel the backing off the outward-facing (soft) fastener and press the blind firmly against it for 10 seconds. Work around the window, ensuring the blind is fully stretched as you go.
7. Leave the blind in place for at least 6 hours before removing to ensure a strong hold.
Packing down...
To detach the blind, remove each fastener one at a time - do not pull the blind down all at once, as this may cause damage.
To remove the fastener from the hard surface, hold the strip firmly against the surface and pull the tab in the direction of the arrows. Do not pull away from the wall. Let the adhesive stretch until it fully detaches.
